Passengers have lucky escape after truck hits bus

THIRTEEN passengers were lucky to escape alive yesterday when a bus collided with a lorry transporter, gardaí said last night.

Seven people were treated for injuries at the scene and three were taken to hospitals in Ballinasloe, Athlone and Tullamore.

The accident happened at 2.30pm, two miles outside Athlone. They were taken to hospitals in Athlone, Ballinasloe and Tullamore.
