GARDAÍ believe the body of a murdered man found in the canal behind Croke Park on Wednesday night was chopped up elsewhere before it was dumped.

Body of evidence

Detectives last night were still trying to identify the remains. However, they confirmed the dead man was a white adult male.

A post mortem was carried out at the city morgue after the body parts were removed from the Royal Canal at Ballybough Bridge near Summerhill in Dublin’s north inner city.
