Journalists may strike over pension

NINETEEN journalists at The Kerryman/Corkman have been balloted for strike action in a dispute over a pension scheme involving regional newspapers around the country.

The National Union of Journalists (NUJ) is balloting for industrial action among members working in the regional newspaper sector following what it claims is the decision of newspaper owners to unilaterally abandon the national pension scheme.
