Call for vote to allow gay marriage

People should also be given a right to vote on a series of other changes to the 1937 Constitution that would make it more inclusive of the range of modern families that are not based on marriage, WHC chairwoman Dr Cecily Kelleher said.

Gay couples should also be allowed to adopt children, based on the quality of parenting they can offer a child, the committee heard.
