Ahead of today’s Cabinet reshuffle, the independent taxpayers’ watchdog showed the cost to the public of a series of questionable and botched decisions by Government ministers.

From the €50 million spent on the abandoned electronic voting to the failure to properly implement the penalty points system, the Comptroller and Auditor General showed widespread abuse of the public purse.
