A FAMILY is seeking a garda investigation into 15 hours of missing nursing records in the case of a mother who died from a perforated ulcer that had been diagnosed as constipation.

Catherine McCarthy, 42, a mother of two teenage boys from Turner’s Cross, died in Cork University Hospital a day after admission to its A&E department with a severe abdominal pain, a coroner’s court in Cork heard yesterday.

James McCarthy, an emergency medical technician, said he raised concerns with nursing staff about two hours before his wife’s death on March 21.
