RTÉ REFUSED to say last night whether it was considering introducing a time-delay system to its radio programmes following sexual allegations made about Transport Minister Martin Cullen and his PR advisor Monica Leech live on air on Thursday.

RTÉ quiet on time-delay introduction

Delays of five or seven seconds are sometimes used by radio stations to ensure programme producers have a chance to cut out profane or defamatory remarks before they are transmitted.

However, RTÉ does not have delays on any of its radio programmes.
