THE Government’s failure to reduce the carnage on the roads will be highlighted by the Opposition in the Dáil tonight.

The central aim of the Government’s Road Safety Strategy 2004-2006 was to reduce the number of people killed in traffic accidents to 300 or less.

Yet two years into the strategy, the number of deaths on the roads is increasing rather than decreasing.
