ONE of the country’s biggest local authorities is cracking down on householders who haven’t paid their refuse charges.

Cork County Council confirmed last night that it will withdraw its pay-by-weight rubbish collection service, from next Monday, from households in its South Cork Division whose accounts aren’t in order.

Householders in South Cork currently pay an annual e120 standing charge plus 47c per kilogramme of waste collected.
