Brave Lizzie undergoes bone marrow transplant operation

A 26-YEAR-OLD who has survived a record sixth liver transplant will today undergo what her family hopes will be her final operation.

The O'Farrell and Finnegan families from Kilkenny will today be praying that gutsy Lizzie Finnegan and her brother, Philly O'Farrell, come through a bone marrow transplant with flying colours.

Lizzie made medical history just after St Patrick's Day this year by undergoing and surviving a sixth liver transplant at King's College Hospital in London. She underwent intensive chemotherapy all day yesterday and this morning faces what her husband, Keith Finnegan, and her extended family hope will be her final operation.
