STUDENTS at Killina Presentation Secondary School were offered psychological support and counselling as they tried to come to terms with the tragedy that hit the school community yesterday.

Boys and girls from among the 460 students stood around in obvious shock and hugged each other as news of the road accident filtered through. By early afternoon, the death of one of their classmates was confirmed to them in small groups.

Chairman of the school's board of management Seamus Boland said the mood around the school was one of total shock.
