Victim Support was thrown into chaos by the resignations of 11 of the 16-member board, including those of founder Derek Nally, chairperson Mairéad Fernane, and vice-chairs Joan Cullen and Mary Ryan. Treasurer Kevin McBrien and honorary vice-president George Glendon also resigned.

The voluntary organisation has been riven by internal conflict, with a split over its future direction.
