Gardaí in West Cork attacked

TWO gardaí were attacked and injured by a gang of youths after they went to question them about underage drinking.

One of the gardaí had a finger broken and the other sustained muscle injuries following the attack in the West Cork town of Dunmanway at the weekend.

It is the second time in a week that gardaí have been attacked in the town.
