ANGRY rows broke out at two city council meetings last night as motions were passed calling on the Government not to release the killers of Garda Detective Jerry McCabe.

Limerick City Council passed a motion calling on the Taoiseach to honour assurances that the garda killers would not be given early release.

Mayor Michael Hourigan, who tabled the motion, said the issue bred strong emotion in Limerick.
