Port gets ship-shape to welcome royal visitor

Queen Mary II is the biggest passenger liner-ever and, at a cost of $800 million, the most expensive passenger ship in history. With capacity for 2,620 passengers and 1,253 crew members, it is 147-feet longer than the Eiffel Tower is tall.

This week’s call by Queen Mary II (QM2) will be one of the first occasions when passengers beginning their cruises will join the liner in Waterford when they set off on their voyage from Dunmore East to Scotland and onward to Norway.
