Student rail discounts cut

STUDENT rail discounts were cut yesterday as Iarnród Éireann announced a revision of its promotional fares.

The company, which lost E7.1 million last year, is planning to generate E3.5m through slashing its discount tickets.

However, it said substantial reductions remained in place on some fares.
