Claim list plan is under review

A TOWN council is having second thoughts on whether it should continue with a so-called name-and-shame policy, aimed at reducing the number of compensation claims against it.

Tralee Town Council decided, last January, to publish, in local newspapers, the names of people bringing personal injury claims and a list containing six names was published in The Kerryman, in April.

No further lists have been published and acting town clerk, in Tralee, John McCarthy, yesterday confirmed that the council is taking legal advice in relation to the publication of claimants’ names.
