Fianna Fail to keep backbenchers better informed

NEWLY elected Fianna Fáil TDs were yesterday assured they would be kept better informed over Government affairs, following the storm over spending cutbacks.

Some deputies have complained they were not fully informed about Government decisions which had made it difficult for them when dealing with constituents.

However, yesterday Government chief whip Mary Hanafin announced new appointments to the press office and assured deputies they would be kept up to date with all decisions.
