PARENTS struggling to pay for childcare are set to be targeted by political parties as they gear up for the next general election.

With Labour and the Green Party already championing attractive new childcare policies aimed at wooing voters, the Government is preparing to overhaul its childcare policy.

Dublin and Cork are the two most expensive cities for childcare with the weekly cost per child averaging €200 in Dublin and €160 to €180 in Cork.
