Labour wants Arts 4 All

THE Labour Party yesterday called for more opportunities to be given to children and young people to get involved in artistic and cultural activities.

Labour wants Arts 4 All

Launching its Arts 4 All initiative, spokesperson on arts Jack Wall said a new national cultural strategy was needed.

ā€œAt government level there has always been a tradition of mutual distrust and buck-passing in dealings between the Arts Council on the one hand, and the Department of Education on the other,ā€ he said. Arts 4 All aims to have arts and culture at the heart of the school curriculum and not just an extra-curricular activity.

Mr Wall hopes that within four years, every school child would be entitled to 30 hours fee music tuition.
