STUDENTS whose home economics results were held over on Wednesday pending a Department of Education and Science probe are expected to have their final grade by post this morning.

The 14 Leaving Certificate students who attend a school in the south-east were stunned on Wednesday to find their grades had been withheld, pending an investigation into similarities in answers given by some candidates. All of the girls were in one of two home economics, social and scientific classes.

Irate parents had asked that the matter be clarified immediately and that the results be sent on to the CAO which will be making its first round of offers on Monday.
