AWARD-winning author, broadcaster and humorist Pete McCarthy, whose travel book McCarthy’s Bar was an international bestseller, has died in England.

A spokesman said McCarthy, who was married with three children, was diagnosed with cancer eight months ago and died on Wednesday at the Royal Sussex Hospital, Brighton.

The 51-year-old had been planning his third book.
