NURSES at an Accident and Emergency (A&E) department will meet with union officials this morning as the threat of further industrial action at the hospital looms.

Nurses at the A&E department of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda protested outside the unit yesterday for an hour at lunchtime. It is the third lunchtime protest by nurses who say the unit needs more staff.

Irish Nurses Organisation (INO) industrial relations officer Patsy Doyle said nurses are fed up with their lot and that the public is also beginning to sit up and realise just how bad conditions are within the casualty area at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.
