‘I thought Hitler was coming’

A LINE of ten riot officers stood across Johnny Rodger’s driveway when he opened his door to a loud knock around 6.30am yesterday.

Behind them, two garda vans sealed off access in or out of his bay. He was met by detectives who told him they had a warrant to search his caravan.

“I was in the caravan when they arrived. Ten riot officers standing across the gate, in full gear. I thought Hitler was coming. It was an awful sight,” he said.
