LRC targets ‘corporate killing’

MAJOR legislative changes have been recommended by the country’s top legal think-tank to target companies responsible for “corporate killing”.

The Law Reform Commission has urged the Government to create two offences to tackle the problem of negligence by employers which results in fatal workplace accidents.

It also recommends there be no maximum fine for anyone found guilty of corporate killing.
