No plan to test new €56m software

AFTER having to suspend the introduction of a new €150 million health service payroll system, the Health Service Executive (HSE) admitted last night that it has no plans to send representatives to India to ensure that a €56m hospital software package works in Ireland.

The software is being tailor-made for the British National Health System (NHS) who have sent dozens of clinicians from Britain to India to advise iSoft as it develops its next-generation patient management system, Lorenzo.

The HSE’s 10-year contract with iSoft includes an upgrade to Lorenzo when it becomes available. This will be the same version designed for the NHS.
