A NEW strategy to limit one-off housing in the rural hinterland of Limerick city was in disarray yesterday.

This followed a vote by Limerick County Council to remove a key element of the County Development Plan (2005-2011), which the council approved just three months ago.

The new plan extended a pressure zone for housing in rural areas adjacent to Limerick from a 10-mile to a 20-mile radius of the city.
