Post staff return a boost for talks

AN POST yesterday agreed to reinstate 92 temporary workers, clearing the way for Labour Relations Commission (LRC) talks to begin on Monday.

The LRC talks, aimed at resolving the differences between An Post management and the Communication Workers Union (CWU), looked in jeopardy yesterday morning as the company refused to reinstate part- time workers.

However as the LRC intervened again yesterday, the company agreed that in addition to 550 Dublin Mail Centre workers, 92 temporary staff let go last week will also be returned to work.
