Teenage girl hit by car remains critical

A TEENAGE girl, one of two young women injured in a hit-and-run accident two weeks ago, remains in an extremely serious condition in hospital.

The 17-year-old and her 19-year-old friend were knocked down outside a public house in south Dublin by a dark coloured car that failed to stop.

Minutes later, a couple of miles away, two black Mercedes were involved in a collision that left an elderly man dead and his wife with extensive leg injuries. Gardaí believe the two incidents are linked.
