PRIMARY school teachers have accused the Government of threatening their ability to meet commitments under the social partnership agreement.

Teachers hit at support service cutbacks

Under the Sustaining Progress deal finalised earlier this year, teachers agreed to continue a modernisation programme of school development planning first set out in the previous agreement, Programme for Prosperity and Fairness.

Recent legislation, particularly the 1998 Education Act, requires schools to draw up written policies on issues such as homework, behaviour, bullying and planning for new school curriculums.
