Thousands of illegals ‘can’t come home for Christmas’

THOUSANDS of illegal Irish immigrants in the US cannot come home for Christmas, a Fine Gael TD claimed last night.

The crackdown on illegal workers in the US has triggered fears they won’t get back into the country if they return home for Christmas.

Stringent checks were introduced in the US following the terrorists attacks of September 11 and many Irish believe they could be deported.
