Perjury warning to motorists

THE director general of the Law Society, Ken Murphy, has warned motorists who falsely claim not to have received notification of fines that they could be found guilty of perjury.

Perjury warning to motorists

Mr Murphy’s comments come in the wake of a district court decision to dismiss cases against five motorists this week who claimed they got no notification of speeding fines.

Mr Murphy said a motorist attempting to escape paying a fine by blaming gardaí and the postal system for failing to notify him/her was likely to be caught out.
