Council to tackle illegal signs

CORK County Council is to get tough on the erectors of rogue roadside signs.

Council to tackle illegal signs

In common with other local authorities the council is experiencing an increase in illegally-erected signs. North Tipperary County Council has voted to impose a levy of €630 on house sellers who put up “for sale” signs in public places. The move is designed to cut down on the increasing number of auctioneers’ signs giving directions to houses that are for sale.

Cork County Council is looking at how it can strengthen its position under the Litter Pollution Act 1997.
