THE Catholic Bishops backed the Nice Treaty yesterday, stating there was a stronger case for voting in favour than against.

Also, the country’s largest union called on workers to vote Yes in the Nice referendum, arguing most gains for employees over the past 30 years have come from Europe.

Urging people to be informed on the issues and cast their votes, the bishops said the issues facing the country in the treaty were important for the future of Europe.
