Cigarette theft

MEMBERS of a gang that netted millions in cigarettes in robberies may have been involved in incidents in east and north Cork and south Tipperary yesterday morning.

Four men armed with baseball bats, whom the gardaí believe are Cork city-based, got away with cigarettes from a shop in the Co Tipperary village of Clogheen at about 3.30am yesterday, but were foiled in a number of other attempted break-ins.
