Just 11% of working parents picked their childcare because it was close to their place of employment - a finding that suggests parents may not be overly enthusiastic about workplace creches.

These findings from the survey could suggest another reason for the enduring popularity of the neighbourhood childminder and the importance to parents of increasing the number of creches nationwide.
