THE Government is assembling a team of international nuclear-industry experts to assist in its legal battle to have Sellafield closed.

Ireland has used various international treaties to take a complex set of legal actions against the British government, which owns the controversial nuclear plant.

It is hoped the piecemeal legal approach, in tandem with political and diplomatic efforts, will eventually prove successful, and that the British government will decommission Sellafield.
