STRIKING port workers in Waterford were yesterday planning peace talks to end a fortnight-old dispute centred on pay and conditions.

The Labour Relations Commission intervened after an incident which left a harbour pilot stranded on board a cargo ship for two days.

Pilot David Heffernan was due to escort a ship out of Waterford at midnight on Friday.
