Meeting frustrates son of shot garda

THE son of the first garda to be killed in the Troubles has expressed frustration following a meeting with a veteran republican linked to the gang that killed his father.

Finian Fallon came face to face with one of the men he believed could shed further light on his father Richard's death in 1970.

Garda Fallon was shot in the head as he and a colleague chased bank robbers following a raid on the Royal Bank of Ireland on Arran Quay in Dublin.
