Regulations to hit sheep show

Entries for the national sheep championships, part of the RDS Spring livestock show at Kill, Co Kildare, on May 10, will be reduced because of new Department of Agriculture regulations.

Regulations to hit sheep show

All shows have to declare whether they will feature scrapie-monitored sheep or unmonitored sheep solely. The RDS has declared the sheep championships scrapie-monitored only, as the majority of sheep shown by societies are in that category.

Pat McDermott, RDS Foundation Activities Manager, said the livestock show features the main pedigree breeds and commercial cattle.
