Waterford and Kilkenny clash over plan for boundary

A TURF war has broken out between local authorities in Waterford and Kilkenny over plans to extend the Deise boundary.

Waterford City Council has published plans to extend its boundary into Kilkenny to improve services for locals.

The extension includes a parcel of land on the Kilkenny side of the Suir river that would take in the Port of Waterford as well as an area of the Quays just across the river which is rife for development.
