SHANNON Development was yesterday accused of turning Limerick’s King John’s Castle into a tourism black spot.

Cllr John Gilligan, who is involved in the promotion of the historic King John’s Island where the castle is located, said Shannon Development had managed to turn what should be a centrepiece of Limerick tourism into a total fiasco.

“They don’t want to know. It’s now time to call a halt to what is happening at King John’s Castle,” he said.
