Subject changes to be taught despite teacher training ban

THE changes to two subjects taken by more than 25,000 Leaving Certificate students will be taught in over 300 schools next week, despite a ban by some teachers on learning the new course material.

Members of the Teachers’ Union of Ireland took in-service training during the summer for the new biology and home economics syllabi, but the training was not attended by ASTI members because of their ongoing pay dispute.
