THIEVES caused over €10,000 worth of damage to a supermarket in Limerick yesterday during an early morning ramraid on an ATM machine.

A jeep was driven through the front door of the Spar supermarket in Ballycummin Village in Raheen, Limerick, at 3am yesterday. It’s understood that the raiders were trying to steal money from the ATM machine located in the shop.

“We believe the intruders were trying to get at the ATM machine, the back of which would be located inside the shop,” said a garda spokesman.
