Legislation targets bogus compo claims

CRACKING down on bogus compensation claims and reducing insurance costs will be the top priority of legislation to be published before the end of the year.

But not one piece of legislation allowing for the much-vaunted reform of the health service will be ready before that time.

The Government is also proceeding with controversial changes to the laws governing the Child Abuse Commission, allowing it to operate in a more effective and efficient manner and the tribunals, to deal with issues arising from the resignation of Justice Feargus Flood and other cost matters.
