A SERIOUSLY ill child who was being brought to hospital by ambulance had to be transferred to another emergency vehicle after a collision with a car.

Senior officials from the South Eastern Health Board have begun an investigation following a collision between one of its ambulances and a car late on Friday night in which two people were injured.

The child who was being transferred from Waterford to Dublin was not injured in the crash, nor was the nurse who accompanied the sick child.
