Identifying tax exile numbers 'impossible'

FINANCE Minister Brian Cowen has said he does not know how many people are availing of "exile" status to avoid paying millions of euro in taxes.

The Revenue Commissioners cannot identify the number of people involved, he said.

Mr Cowen was asked for the precise figure by Joan Burton of Labour and Sinn Féin's Arthur Morgan.
