THE share of Government funding allocated to mental health services has declined in the past 10 years, it was claimed yesterday.

Despite increased funding for the sector, Schizophrenia Ireland director John Saunders said the percentage of health spending on mental health services had dropped from 9% to 7% since 1992.

“Really it is the Cinderella of the health care services,” he said.
