THE days of leaving parking and speeding fines behind after your holidays are about to come to an end.

New law means no escape from fines incurred on Euro holidays

Fines incurred across the Border in the North, which up to now were too costly for the police to collect, will also have to be paid.

Justice ministers from 25 European counties agreed yesterday to collect fines for each other for a wide range of offences, including parking and speeding. In some countries this could amount to hefty fines. In Germany drivers are fined according to their income and this can vary from 20 to 40 days' salary.
