Threat of US attack on Iraq likely to raise petrol costs, says AA
Although forecourt prices are not directly determined by the price of crude oil, AA spokesman Conor Faughnan said the trend in petrol costs was certainly upwards as a result of recent comments from the Bush administration about military action against Saddam Hussein.
“Even talk of war tends to force the price of oil up which filters through to the cost to the consumer on the forecourt,” said Mr Faughnan.
